Here is another awesome customer quilt. I may have jumped her up in the line because I knew snow was predicted and I wanted to take advantage of the autumn beauty here in Alberta.

The snow started to fly lightly.

There is an art to quilt holding. Good thing I am 6 feet tall, I have a wide arm span. This quilt is 80 by 80 inches.

Love the water. 

I love contrasting the free motion quilting with the feathers and the straight lines. Whenever I approach a custom quilt I think about complimentary patterns and how to tie the various patterns together.  

In my introductory free motion quilting class the first thing i teach is straight lines. They are truly versatile and add great texture.

To make this a truly Canadian post, a picture of a beaver. Okay I admit it’s hard to see the beaver, but he is there with stick in mouth!
