Meet Teresa:
Teresa started out her working life as an elementary teacher and then moved to the post-secondary education sector, where she is now an Associate Dean of Trades at a BC college. She has been married to Brent for almost 27 years, and together, they are the parents of three amazing and unique people and the grandparents of three beautiful grandchildren. Things that bring Teresa joy include quilting (obviously!), kayaking on mountain lakes, settling with a good book and strong coffee, and walking her golden retriever, Caramel.
When the pandemic hit Teresa’s work at a college went from zero on-line presence to 100% on-line. This was super stressful, however she decided that turning on the TV with all of it’s post apocalyptic shows wasn’t going to help her feel better. Rather, turning to a 20 year old hobby of quilting for a very productive stress relief.
I am totally inspired with the stories of how many amazing connections came because of her re-dedication to the art of quilting. Teresa demonstrates resilience by recovering from her stress and then she spreads more joy and love into the world through her craft. She was able to reconnect with a friend from jr high who needed a friend and support her. She made 2 memory quilts for a recently widowed neighbour as he is extra lonely during Covid. She is helping others and having so much fun playing with colour and quilting techniques. Check out the video, you can’t help but be inspired by her. Thanks Teresa for being such an example to me and others.
