One of the strongest draws to quilting for me is the impact that charity quilts can bring to someones life. I have really enjoyed quilting for great causes like the most recent fires in Fort Mac here in Alberta, for Ronald McDonald House, for the Womens Shelter and many other wonderful and deserving charities.

8 Inch Challenge Continued

In September I toke a colour values class from Cheryl Arkison This class challenged me to not be so ‘match-matchy’ all the time. I pulled fabric from my stash that I would never have put together. But using the concept of colour value I was able to come up with a scrappy quilt that looked pretty good but did not use my ‘normal’ piecing method.

Halloween Approaching

I do love a nice festive touch to the home and quilts are a great way to achieve this. Here are two quilts that I have made for Halloween. Unfortunately, they aren’t mine. Jackie owner of www.nutsforboltsetc.com commissioned me to make them. I am able to admire them when I go to work.

Quilting is an art form for me, a creative outlet. But with all art there are rules that need to be followed for best results. These rules are so liberating to me, because I know if I follow them than all the creative parts will come together so nicely.
